Volunteer

The Aldan Youth Club is a volunteer-run organization. We are always looking for people to step up and join in! Whether you just take a couple of shifts at the snack bar, you coach or assistant coach one of our amazing teams, or you take up one of our open positions, we need you. We literally could not exist without volunteers, so please help out if you can. Being a volunteer is a great way to make new friends in the community and strengthen your kids’ friendships. It will also get you an invitation to some of our fun volunteer appreciation nights. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can sign up for a position when you register your child for sports, or you can email us today!

Open Position
Boys Basketball Director

The AYC is currently looking for a person (or people) to act as Boy's Basketball Director for the upcoming 2024-25 Winter Soccer season.

The position entails attending the Delco boys league director meetings (around 6 meetings over the course of the season and also staying up to date with league basketball emails).

Other duties include but not limited to:

  • Communicating with coaches, parents and athletes
    Creating and ordering jerseys
Keeping track of the scores and schedule for all AYC league games
Scheduling gym times for both games and practice with the William Penn school district
And most important just making sure everything is running smoothly

Please remember this is just for boy's travel basketball only, there is already a Girl's basketball director and a Saturday Clinic director in place.

We are intending on having at 8U, 10U, 12U and maybe even a 14U team this year, with opportunities for a 16U team as well. Ages for boys for travel basketball is 6 to 16 (17 if birthday is after Sept 1st).

We are looking for someone to step into this role quickly so we can start the ball rolling on opening registration in the next few weeks. The previous director Marvin will be around to assist you to transition into this role. Without a director this program can potentially disappear like other local clubs in our area.
